The Jonglei Civil Society Network (JCSN) is a coalition of community-based organizations working together to promote sustainable development and inclusive growth in Jonglei State. Established in February 2017, the Network believes that true sustainable development means ensuring that the people of Jonglei have equal access to — and actively participate in — economic, social, political, and environmental progress. From the very beginning, JCSN has focused on strengthening the capacity of its members, building the internal skills and structures needed to create a stronger, more unified voice for civil society. This approach has enabled the Network to effectively advocate for the rights and welfare of communities across the state.
JCSN’s mandate goes beyond advocacy — it serves as a vital link between communities and decision-makers. The Network engages in policy influence, research, and awareness campaigns to address issues such as insecurity, poor service delivery, and limited economic opportunities. Through partnerships with CEPO, OXFAM, NPA, and ZOA, JCSN has strengthened civil society engagement, promoted accountability, and built community resilience. Guided by transparency, inclusiveness, and empowerment, JCSN remains committed to fostering a peaceful and prosperous Jonglei where every citizen can contribute to sustainable development.
